The E 63 AMG impresses with its emotive driving feel, dynamism and power at the highest level, always letting the driver choose between a sporty or a more comfort-oriented driving style.
The AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine incorporates motor-racing technology such as a magnesium dual-length intake manifold with internal throttle valves and a sophisticated valve train. Developing 386 kW/525 hp and a peak torque of 630 Nm, the E 63 AMG accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds.
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sports transmission gives drivers all the freedom they want. In addition to the "Race Start" and automatic double-declutching functions it provides four individual driving programmes: "C" (controlled efficiency) for driving with optimum fuel consumption; the "S" (sport), "S+" (sport plus) and "M" (manual) programmes improve dynamism. They allow for gear changes in less than 100 ms and a compact, wet start-up clutch replaces the usual torque converter.
The AMG ride control sports suspension will not fail to impress with significantly improved transverse dynamics thanks to the new wider front axle and the electronically controlled damping system on the rear axle. It enables fast changes to ensure optimum agility and relaxing ride comfort. The new AMG sports suspension also delivers unique individuality. As well as offering the choice between suspension settings "Comfort", "Sport" and "Sport Plus", the driver can also define the level of support from the ESP® dynamic handling control system – with the ON, SPORT and OFF functions.
The AMG speed-sensitive sports steering has an even more direct ratio and, therefore, offers greater steering precision and better road feel.
The new AMG high-performance braking system featuring 360-mm brake discs and highly durable composite technology tested on the race track ensures outstanding levels of deceleration and fade resistance.
