The new compact-SUV concept with 4MATIC all-wheel drive and off-road functions and presentation on the CENTRAL MEDIA DISPLAY ensures a safe driving sensation and consistent dynamic handling, in particular on poor surfaces or in adverse weather conditions.
Depending on the situation between 100 and 50 per cent of the torque can be sent to the front axle and between 0 and 50 per cent to the rear axle. Consequently the all-wheel-drive system adapts flexibly and imperceptibly to the respective driving situation. 4MATIC all-wheel drive is available for three models of the new GLA.
The off-road transmission mode offers even better off-road capability at the push of a button. The modified characteristics of the drive system optimise traction in particular on loose terrain. Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR) helps the driver master even steep descents safely. The on- & off-road data on the CENTRAL MEDIA DISPLAY shows steering, pitch and bank angle, for example. Range and output of the off-road lights of the optional Intelligent Light System adapt to the terrain.
