Interior comfort - There's still room in the seventh heaven.

Getting in and feeling at home – with its pleasant, indirect light the ambient lighting creates an unrivalled sense of well-being throughout the interior. Three colour options are available to configure your preferred lighting effect. The brightness can be dimmed in five stages.

The Ambient lighting system accentuates, particularly at night, the contours and high-quality appeal of the interior design and conveys a feeling of security through a generous sense of space. It is activated and deactivated with the outside lighting. It also switches on to welcome the passengers when the doors are opened.

The three colours of the Ambient lighting:

• Neutral (white)
• Polar (ice-blue)
• Solar (amber)

The cup holders in the centre console provide a secure support for two bottles or beakers.

The automatic climate control system with three climate zones and three climate modes provides an individual feel-good climate on board. The temperature and air distribution can be set separately for the driver, front passenger and the rear of the vehicle. Sensors keep the desired climate in each of the zones constant.

There are three airflow modes to choose from, and which adapt the airflow to suit individual preferences: diffused, medium and focused. The rear centre nozzles, ventilation nozzles in the B-pillars and an additional blower all enhance the climate comfort in the rear.

A sensor for air quality and noxious gases permanently monitors the quality of the exterior air drawn in. In the event of increased noxious pollutants, the system automatically switches to air recirculation. In addition a fine particles/active charcoal filter enhances the air quality in the vehicle interior. It filters dust, soot and pollen from the air and also reduces pollutants and unpleasant odours.

Rear compartment passengers can enjoy even greater climate comfort with the additional rear compartment air conditioning, which enhances climate comfort to the 3rd seat row.

Via an operating panel on the back of the centre console, temperature and air distribution can be individually adjusted for the vehicle rear compartment. Individually targeted climate control is made possible thanks to two nozzles on the centre console in the B-pillars, two roof air outlets for the third seat row and a vent in the rear footwell.

This manually-adjustable lumbar support ensures greater seating comfort, in particular on longer journeys. The support can be individually adjusted using a handwheel on the inboard side of the seat. Turning the wheel towards the front increases support, turning towards the rear decreases it.

Perfect adjustment at all times: If the vehicle is used by several persons, the Memory package offers a particular operating comfort. Up to three different positions for the power front seats, steering column and exterior mirrors can be stored and retrieved at the touch of a button.

The memory program covers all seat setting options such as fore-and-aft position and height of the seat, the angle and length of the seat cushion and the seat backrest inclination.Operation is intuitive using ergonomic switches in the door control panels.

To provide a better view when reversing the vehicle into a parking space, the exterior mirror on the front-passenger side automatically dips when reverse gear is engaged.

Thanks to their inflatable air chambers, the active multicontour seats with massage function ensure the best possible seating comfort. Both the driver and front passenger can adjust their seats to fit their stature. The seats also include 4-way lumbar support and luxury head restraints.

On cold days the seat heating for driver and passenger quickly provides cosy warmth as desired. The occupants each have a choice between three heating levels at the push of a button.

Thanks to active ventilation, on hot days the climate-controlled seats quickly cool down the surface of the seats to a pleasant temperature and create a balanced seat climate. In cold weather the on-demand seat heating provides cosy warmth as required.

Ice-free vision and pleasant temperatures in the interior all year round right from the start of the journey thanks to the auxiliary heating system, which can be controlled remotely via smartphone or a remote control. In particular when a garage cannot be used, this represents a tangible gain in terms of comfort and safety.
